Career Focused Learning Community

Mission Statement

The Engineering Career Focused Learning Community (CFLC) program is designed for highly motivated students interested in post secondary studies in the field of engineering.  Through the program's directed course of study students will be introduced to the concepts of mathematics, science, and technology that are the foundations of an engineering curriculum.  The Engineering CFLC exposes students to the different disciplines of engineering through a combination of courses, extracurricular experiences, guest speakers, and internship opportunities.

Courses of Study

      Engineering

This course of study is a rigorous program designed for advanced placement students.  These students will meet the admission requirements for the most competitive collegiate engineering programs in the country.

        Engineering Technology

This course of study is a challenging program designed for students interested in post secondary studies in engineering.  These students will meet the admission requirements for most collegiate and technical engineering programs.

Each course of study provides  the following engineering majors:

• Mechanical and Aerospace
• Computer and Electrical
• Civil and Environmental
• Chemical and Material Science
• Biological
• Operation Research and Industrial

Requirements for All Majors

• Drafting I
• Intro to Engineering (PLTW)
• Principles of Engineering (PLTW)
• Digital Electronics (PLTW)
• At Least One of the Following
  Civil Engineering and Architecture
  Aerospace Engineering
• Engineering Design and Development
• Internship
• Extracurricular Involvement
